Data Intensive Biology and Medicine discussion group
Location:WIMR Conference Room level 2
As of Tuesday 23rd of May, I will be kicking off a weekly Data Intensive Biology and Medicine discussion group at 11am in the level 2 conference room. This meeting aims to bring together researchers working on high-dimensional experiments and studies that measure the behaviour of thousands of molecules, cells, samples or subjects. The motivation for initiating this group was to create an open forum where we can:
•Discuss cutting-edge research questions that can be answered with "big" experiments and the complex approaches needed in the clinic, at the bench and behind a keyboard to tackle them.
•Report the progress of ongoing work, in particular the challenges and hiccups that might inspire further discussion.
•Generate collaborative debate between researchers with varied skillsets and a broad range of interests and experience.
If you would be interested in participating in the discussion group, please email [email protected] with your name and a brief one sentence description of your interests. This will allow us to begin experimenting with formats that will make the group productive.
