Dr Ellis Patrick: Deconstructing a molecular network of the aging frontal cortex
Westmead Hub Bioinformatics and ‘Omics Seminar Series
Location:Children’s Medical Research Institute, Seminar Room 1
Dr. Ellis Patrick, Early Career Development Fellow, School of Mathematics and Statistics, University of Sydney, WIMR.
Title: ‘Deconstructing a molecular network of the aging frontal cortex’
By accepting that tissue-level gene expression data captures a complex cocktail of cell-type and disease relevant signal, bioinformatics approaches can be used to deconstruct and model this complexity. Ellis will give a broad overview of these approaches and their use in the context of investigating the molecular aetiology of Alzheimer’s Disease.
Food + refreshments will be provided. Discussions and networking are warmly encouraged.
