Westmead Hub Bioinformatics and ‘Omics Seminar (WH-BOS)
Location:Seminar Room 1 and 2, Children’s Medical Research Institute (CMRI), 214 Hawkesbury Rd, Westmead
Madeleine Otway, PhD Student, Cell Signalling Unit, CMRI.
Title: Thumbs and Fingers: An exploration of large scale SWATH-MS data generation and analysis.
This talk will cover a few of the challenges that occur when performing large scale SWATH-MS experiments, some ways to address these challenges, and a brief exploration of the data that are generated by SWATH-MS.
Michael Lee, PhD student, Telomere Length Regulation Unit, CMRI.
Talk Title: Telomere sequence content can be used to determine ALT activity in tumours.
Michael will discuss the development of a WGS-based classifier to determine the presence of ALT activity in tumour samples and the analysis used to uncover the genes and pathways associated with ALT activation.
Food + refreshments will be provided. Discussions and networking are encouraged.
