Palliative care in vulnerable populations forum

Darlington Centre Conference Room City Road, Darlington

At the end of life, everyone is vulnerable. However vulnerable populations have a unique experience of palliative care. Experiences of marginalisation often result in differential treatment in health care. Vulnerable populations can include people with a disability or chronic impairment, a non-English speaking background or cultural background, refugees, those with low socioeconomic status or an intentional assumption such as homelessness or institutional setting.

This forum, brought to you by the University of Sydney and the University of Edinburgh partnership, will be an opportunity to engage with other disciplines to discuss issues in palliative care with vulnerable populations and to identify how inclusive and accessible palliative care can be achieved.
