Sydney Medical School’s Early Career Research (ECR) Showcase & Networking Event at Westmead

What: You are invited to participate in the Sydney Medical School’s Early Career Research (ECR) Showcase. This is a chance for ECRs (up to 10 years post-PhD) to present their research to a general audience and to engage researchers from across the Sydney Medical School. The event is designed to encourage new collaborations and to inform ECRs of new support and networking systems available to them.
The Sydney Medical School ECR Showcase is free to all interested university and affiliated staff members and students. The event will comprise of a morning workshop session, consisting of a series of educational and informative talks catered specifically for ECRs, followed by a range of short talks from ECRs (selected from their submitted biosketches). Directly following the ECR showcase there will be a networking and social event, providing a chance to meet fellow researchers and talk further about your research.

10:30-12:30 – workshops (funding opportunities, academic promotions, speaking to the media, research integrity)
12:30-1:00 – lunch
1:00-4:30 pm – ECR showcase
4:30 – drinks, canapés and networking
If you are an ECR and would like to present, please submit your Biosketch of 100 words outlining what you do, why your research is important and how you do it by filling in the following questionnaire by Friday 3 March.

Prizes will be awarded for the best presentations.
A travel grant will be available for one or more eligible rural ECRs to attend and present.
