Helen Chan is Associate Professor in the Nethersole School of Nursing, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her research interest is in the areas of end-of-life care and ethics of care. She has rich experience in research studies and community projects on promoting advance care planning among frail older adults and patients with advanced diseases. Dr Chan serves the editorial board of Asian Journal of Gerontology and Geriatrics and Journal of Nursing Ethics, and as a co-opted member in the Education Committee of the Nursing Council of Hong Kong. She also has been appointed as the honorary advisor (end-of-life care) of elderly service for the Hong Kong Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA). Dr Chan received Young Investigator Award at the 5th Hong Kong Palliative Care Symposium in 2008 and at the 19th Hong Kong International Cancer Congress in 2012.
