5th Annual NHMRC Symposium on Research Translation
Location:Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre
The theme for this year is "Embedding research into health care: building a culture of quality".
The Symposium aims to inspire, influence and engender a culture in health care that focuses on quality, underpinned by strong research evidence. Such a culture is exemplified by NHMRC's Advanced Health Research and Translation Centres (AHRTCs) that represent nodes of excellence in evidence-based health care.
The AHRTCs will be presenting at the Symposium on how they are delivering on embedding research into health care and how they are building a culture of quality in their various jurisdictions, frameworks and areas of need. These Centres bring the best possible health delivery to our community, and are equal to the best in the world.
We look forward to hearing about effective strategies for embedding health and medical research evidence into practice, including successful collaboration, changing organisational culture, and sustainable capacity building, amongst others.
We are especially fortunate this year to hear from keynote speakers, Professor Dame Nicky Cullum from the University of Manchester and Professor Derek Angus from the University of Pittsburgh, as well as many of our leading Australian researchers.
A session on ‘Embedding big data into health care’ will allow speakers to share their vision for this critical area, discuss opportunities and challenges, and give examples of how big data are already being used to inform health care decisions.
The program promises to be informative, engaging and visionary.
