Congratulations to A/Prof Alison Brand who was awarded Member, Order of Australia (AM) in the Australia Day Honours for services to Gynaecology, Medicine, and Medical organisations.

SWTCRC co-Deputy Director Professor Anna DeFazio has been recognised for Outstanding Mentoring and Leadership in the 2020 University of Sydney Vice Chancellor's Awards. Now in its fifth year, the awards celebrate the outstanding contributions of our academic and professional staff to teaching, research and service, leadership, mentorship, and industry and community engagement.

Dr Ali Azimi, Dr Caroline Bateman and Dr David Bishop have been awarded ECR Accelerator Grants from SWTCRC.

SWTCRC co-Deputy Director, Professor Anna DeFazio, has been awarded the Jeannie Ferris Cancer Australia Recognition Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to ovarian cancer research. Professor DeFazio is one of Australia’s leading translational ovarian cancer researchers.

SWTCRC Executive member and Flagship leader, Professor Jacob George, has been awarded the Okuda-Omata Award, only the second time this award has been conferred. The award recognises scientific contributions of outstanding significance in the field of hepatology (the study of liver diseases).
